Robert Stephen Poydasheff, III. 25 of Atlanta, Georgia passed away Sunday, March 13, 2022.
A Celebration of his life will be held 11:00 AM Friday, March 18, 2022 at Trinity Episcopal Church 1130 1st Ave. Columbus, Georgia 31901 with Rev. Timothy H. Graham officiating. A private interment will be held in Parkhill Cemetery.
Stephen was born August 1, 1996 in Columbus, GA. He was a graduate of Brookstone School and the University of Georgia, where he was a member of SAE fraternity. He was a 2021 magna cum laude graduate of the Mercer University School of Law, where he served as President of the Mercer Law Student Bar Association and received the Mercer Law Distinguished Leader Award. He was employed by Nelson Mullins Riley and Scarborough, LLP and served on the Mergers and Acquisitions Team.
Stephen had an effervescent personality. He was smart, sincere, funny, and a joy to be around. He loved his family, his many friends, and the Georgia Bulldogs. As a former teacher said of Stephen, he was “super smart, witty in the best and most clever ways, and vehemently stood up for who and what he believed in”. He will be forever missed by his wife, family, and friends who loved him.
Stephen is survived by his beloved wife, Carey Sartain Poydasheff, his parents, Rob and Meg Poydasheff, sisters, Remi Poydasheff Hutson (Richard) and Delaney Poydasheff, and grandmother, Stacy Poydasheff. Also, by aunts and uncles, Charlotte and Jim Gunby, Glynn and Jeff Dakin, Merrill Rushin and Bill Ross and by cousins Walt and Mills Gunby, McCall and Don Dakin, Nancy Rushin, Jennings Ross Johnston (David), and Alex Ross. He was preceded in death by grandmother, Nancy Saunders Smith, grandfather John Franklin Rushin, Jr., grandfather, Robert (Bob) Poydasheff, Sr., and aunt, Cathy Poydasheff Ross.
