Columbus, GA- Robert Eugene Pitts, Jr., 78, of Columbus, GA, died Friday, June 30, 2017 at Columbus Hospice House.
Graveside Services will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at Riverdale Cemetery with Pastor Judy Hay officiating according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mr. Pitts was born July 19, 1938 in Columbus, GA, son of the late Robert E. Sr and Mary Hearn Pitts. He graduated from Columbus High School and the University of Georgia. Mr. Pitts began his working career with his father at Model Cleaners and Furriers, later working in the real estate industry for many years and spent the last twenty years of his career with Cen-Signal.
He was an avid outdoorsman and created many fond memories, both hunting and fishing, with his children, grandchildren and friends.
Survivors include his two sons, Robert E. Pitts III (Valerie) and Wynn Whitfield Pitts (Beth); two grandchildren, Robert (Bo) Whitfield Pitts and Hannah Leigh Pitts.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in the name of Robert E. Pitts, Jr to Columbus Hospice House, 7020 Moon Road Columbus, GA 31909.
