Robert Daniel Korytoski, 92, of Columbus, GA died Friday, January 15, 2021 at the Muscogee Manor Nursing Home in Columbus, GA.
Funeral Services will be held 4:00 P.M.Thursday, January 21, 2021 in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA. 31907 with Father J. Ronald Madden officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. Due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, we encourage everyone to make the best decisions to remain safe. Mr. “Ziggy” Korytoski was born February 9, 1928 in Northampton, MA, son of the late Herman John Korytoski and Genevieve Kozior Korytoski. Ziggy was a talented baseball player and played shortstop and pitcher during high school. He went on to play college baseball and was a graduate of College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA. He will be fondly remembered for his coaching contributions to numerous little league and high school teams. Ziggy retired as a teacher and baseball coach at Northampton High School and a tax preparer. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Pine Mountain, GA.
He was preceded in death by wife, Dorothy B. Korytoski and his daughter, Elizabeth A. Rankin.
Survivors include his daughter Susan J. Yurgielewicz (Larry) of Haydenville, MA; sons James P. Korytoski (Wendy) of Smiths Station, AL; Thomas J. Korytoski (Jan) of West Yarmouth, MA; David H. Korytoski (Cheryl) of Belchertown, MA; Richard “Doright” Korytoski (Debbie) of Cataula, GA; and Daniel E. Korytoski (Chelle) of Newnan, GA. and thirteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
He will be remembered for his devotion to family, his witty, pleasant personality, and his generous spirit.
