Robert Lee Hill, Sr.

Robert Lee Hill, Sr., 93, of Columbus, GA went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at his residence.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, September 9, 2024 at M L Harris United Methodist Church, 4601 Old Cusseta Rd, Columbus, GA 31903, with Reverend Donald Mathis officiating. The family will receive friends for viewing one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment with full Military Honors will be held following the service at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

He joined the Army at a young age and retired honorable after over 20 years of service receiving many metals including a Purple Heart. He then continued his career with the US Postal Service where he retired also. He loved fishing, golf and was an honorary Mason.

Robert joined the M.L. Harris United Methodist Church of Columbus, GA and was an active dedicated valued member. Robert was a man of great faith and a Christian who exemplified the true example of a servant’s heart.

Preceded in death by his parents and wife; son, Robert Lee Hill, Jr., and granddaughter, Deronique Smith. He is survived by children, Barbara Ryles Smith of Atlanta, GA, Mark Hill of Atlanta, GA, Carlos Hill (Tammie) of Elizabethtown, KY; grandchildren, Nathaniel Ryles, Jr., Marlina Hill, Carlos Hill, Jr., Markelius Hill, LaCorria Hill, Jeremiah Hill; great grandchildren, ZaBella Watson, Ahara Watson, Alayah Hill, Myles Ryles, Drevon Ryles; sister, Wilhelmina Manning of Upper Darby, PA; niece, Mardessie Spearman of Lansdowne, PA and a special devoted niece, Phyllis Hussey of Newport News, VA; and host of family and friends.
