Robert Rene "Bob" Hagen, 88, went home to be with the Lord on October 21, 2014. He passed away in his home surrounded by family.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at Beallwood Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Duncan officiating. There will be a private interment at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery in Alabama. The family will receive friends Monday, October 27, 2014 from 5:00-7:00 PM at McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

Bob was born in Superior, Wisconsin and grew up in Cloquet, Minnesota. He was in the US Merchant Marine during WWII, the Georgia and Alabama National Guard, the US Army, and the Federal Civil Service stationed at the Pentagon. He retired from the Army and Federal service in 1986. His rank at retirement was Chief Warrant Officer 4. After retirement, he and his wife moved to Cataula, Georgia where he enjoyed many hobbies including wood working, traveling in his RV and rebuilding vintage Volkswagons and US military vehicles. He was a member of Beallwood Baptist Church in Columbus, Georgia where he served as a deacon. In 2014, he and his wife moved to Manassas, Virginia where he lived until passing.

He was preceded in death by his father, Maurice Hagen, Sr.; his mother, Gladys Hagen, both of Cloquet; his brother, Maurice Hagen, Jr. of Cloquet; and his sister, Darlyne Larson of Raleigh, North Carolina.

He leaves behind his wife of 64 years, Helen C. Hagen of Manassas; his son, Robert R. Hagen, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Jill K. Hagen, both of Manassas; his granddaughters: Courtney Hagen of Washington, D.C., Amy Grant of Portland, Oregon and Jana Grant of Manassas; two great-grandchildren, Vanessa Wickstrom of Manassas, and Silas McColm of Portland; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Beallwood Baptist Church, 4519 Hamilton Road, Columbus, Georgia 31904.
