Robert Edward Andrews

Robert Edward Andrews, 84, of Columbus, GA, died December 5, 2020 at Columbus Hospice House. Mr. Andrews was born January 29, 1936 in Palatka, FL, son of Charles Howard Andrews and Beatrice Ecker Andrews.

Robert (Robin) Andrews graduated from Beaufort High School in 1954. After high school, he entered the Air Force and served as an airborne radio repairman from 1954 to 1958. He was honorably discharged as an Airman first class. After his military service, Robin worked for IBM as a customer engineer until he retired in 2000. After retirement, he enjoyed traveling with his wife, Marie, until they settled in Columbus, GA, in 2018. Robin was a member of the Knights of Columbus and SAR.

Survivors include his wife Marie Andrews of Columbus, GA; brother, Richard F. Andrews of Cataula, GA; children, Margaret Winship (Doug) of Powell, OH, Claire Fairchild (John) of Cataula, GA, Robert Paul Andrews (Jill) of St. Simons Island, GA, Joseph Andrews (Jennifer) of Suwanee, GA; grandchildren, Katherine Winship, Robin (Lexi) Winship both of Powell, OH, Emily Fairchild of Cataula, GA, Matthew Andrews, Charlie Andrews both of St. Simons Island, GA, Caroline Andrews, Luke Andrews, Kate Andrews all of Suwanee, GA; two sisters-in-law, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Preceded in death by parents, Charles H. and Beatrice Ecker Andrews and brothers, Charles O. Andrews and James Andrews; three brothers- in-law and two sisters-in- law.

Burial will be a private ceremony at the National Cemetery in Beaufort, SC.
