Rita Mullane, 105, of Columbus, Georgia and Bradenton, Florida died peacefully Sunday, December 23, 2018 her home in Georgia.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Holy Family Church 320 12th St. Columbus Georgia with Father Daniel O'Connell officiating. A private interment will be held at a later date at St. John Cemetery in Queens New York according to McMullen Funeral home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus Georgia 31907.

Mrs. Mullane was born July 26, 1913 in Brooklyn New York, the daughter of the late James and Anna Travis Hoben. She was very devoted to her family, church and cherished friends. She worked for Torrigion Laboratory, Metropolitan Life Insurance, American Red cross and retired from the City of New York as a Property Assessor. In retirement, Rita was an avid golfer attaining a "hole in one" in her early ninety's. She was also an accomplished award-winning China painter. Both she and her husband enjoyed traveling the world as well as broadening their education at Elder Hostels and traveling through the U.S. and Ireland to visit family.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, John G. Mullane and her son, John F. Mullane.

Survivors include her daughters, Sister Elizabeth Mullane CSJ of Brooklyn, N.Y. and Patricia "Pat" Mullane of Columbus, GA, grandchildren, Rose Marie Bruno, Michael Mullane, Kathleen Burke, Therese Lodewick and Thomas Mullane, 7 great-grandchildren, and her "other" daughter, Susan Wolpin.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Providence House 703 Lexington Ave. Brooklyn, N.Y. 11233.
