Rickey Lee Baker, 63, of Columbus, GA died Saturday, May 12, 2012 at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, AL.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at Eastern Heights Baptist Church 1342 17th St. Columbus, GA 31901 with Dr. LeBron Matthews and Reverend Jimmy Harrison officiating. A private interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mr. Baker was born December 18, 1948 in Blakely, GA son of Alvin L. and Nell Bayne Singletary Baker. He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in the Medical Corp in Germany. He was the owner and operator of Corporate Designs, a screen printing business in Columbus, GA. He was a member of the Columbus Artist Guild. He was an avid fisherman and gardener, and he was an enthusiastic and creative artist.
Survivors include his wife, Rosemary Powell Baker of Columbus, GA, daughters, Peyton Baker Gullatte (Mark) of Montgomery, AL and Molly Baker of Columbus, GA, sons, Brad Baker (Sally) of Athens, GA and Alex Baker of Columbus, GA, and granddaughter, Evelyn Baker of Athens, GA.
Flowers will be accepted but those so desiring may make memorial contributions to Eastern Heights Baptist Church 1342 17th St. Columbus, GA 31901 or Epworth United Methodist Church 2400 Devonshire Dr. Columbus, GA 31904.
