Richard "Richie" L. South, Jr., 58, of Fortson, GA died at his residence Saturday, September 29, 2018 surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, October 03, 2018 in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home, with interment to follow in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 02, 2018 from 5:00 till 7:00PM at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874, Gentian Blvd, Columbus, GA 31907.
Mr. South was born July 25, 1960 in Albany, GA son of Mary Ann Beckom South and the late Richard L. South, Sr. He was a flooring contractor by trade and a U. S. Marine veteran. Richie will always be remembered as a man of faith, a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be deeply missed, however his influence and memories will forever be in our hearts.
Mr. South was also preceded in death by a sister, Lisa South.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 41 years, Susan Wyatt South, Fortson; three children, Ashley (Ray) McQuinn, Fortson, Cale South, Fortson and Dakota Rotach, AK; one sister, Frieda Hammond, Columbus; three grandchildren, Zachary South, Joshua McQuinn and Braizlynn Rotach; special friend, Cary Rhodes; several nieces, nephews and other friends also survive.
