Richard Arlen Smith, 71, of Columbus, GA died Saturday, April 9, 2011 at St. Francis Hospital.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, April 16, 2011 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Joe Keaton officiating. The family will receive friends before the service on Saturday at the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mr. Smith was born September 20, 1939 in Villa Rica, GA son of the late Hoke and Frances Elizabeth Morris Smith. He was the Owner and Operator of Heritage Upholstery and was a member of Cascade Hills Baptist Church.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Buddy Smith.
Survivors include his son, Timothy Paul Smith of Columbus, GA, brothers, Jimmy Smith (Carolyn) of Columbus, GA, Johnny Smith (Dorothy) of Douglasville, GA and Tony Smith of Columbus, GA, sisters, Connie Smith Williams (Roy) of Cataula, GA, Kathy Smith Leese (Mike) of Villa Rica, GA, Bobby Smith Boyd of LaGrange, GA and Jean W. Cannon of Midland, GA, special friend, Laurie Devitt of Cataula, GA, and several nieces and nephews.
