Richard "Rick" Aaron Newman

Richard “Rick” Aaron Newman, 66, of Hamilton, GA died Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Parkhill Cemetery  in Columbus, GA with Rev. Trey Douglas and Rev. Roy Isais officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Friday, May 13, 2022 at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA  31907.

Rick was born December 16, 1955, in Columbus, GA to the late Bobby Lee Newman and the late Jane Lee “June” Newman.  He was also predeceased by his brother, Larry Wayne Newman.  Rick was a plumber by trade, having worked for many plumbing companies throughout the area for many years.  He loved to barbecue, work in the yard and was a great handyman, constantly working on projects his wife would give him to do.  He was also an avid Alabama “Roll Tide” football fan, Atlanta Braves fan and yes, even the Atlanta Falcons!

Rick is survived by his wife of 39 years, Deborah Newman of Hamilton, GA, children Michelle Webb (Mike) of Phenix City, AL, Kim Douglas (Trey) of Pine Mountain, GA and his son, Rusty Law of Columbus, GA.  He is also survived by his twin sister, Pam Cashman (Curtis) of Columbus, GA. granchildren are Dr. McKenzie Hodges (Brad) of Columbus, GA, Mallory Smith of Midland, GA and Carley, Garrett and Parker Douglas of Pine Mountain, GA and one niece, Jaime Lynn Anthony (Jason) of Columbus, GA. and their children, and sister-in-law Beth Newman of Salem, AL.
