Richard "Lee" South, 76, of Columbus, Georgia died Friday, February 20, 2015 in Greenville, GA.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, Georgia 31907. A private interment will follow in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Mr. South was born on April 17, 1938 in Moultrie, Georgia, son of the late Rudy M. South and Pauline Smith McClure. He served in the US Air Force and was self employed as a flooring installer and a member of Beallwood Church of God.
Other than his parents Mr. South was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Michelle South.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann South; son, Richard Lee South, Jr. (Susan); daughter, Freida Hammond (Johnny); two brothers, Jack Smith (Mary) of Jacksonville, FL and Henry South of Columbus, GA; two sisters, Barbara Hurst of Foley, AL and Cherry Kirkland (Tony) of Columbus, GA; three grandchildren, Cale South, Ashley McQuinn (Ray) and Anslee Hammond; two great grandchildren, Zachary South and Joshua McQuinn.
