Richard Thomas Kannady, 32 of Atlanta, died Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at Emory University Hospital, ending his long battle against Burkitt's Lymphoma.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM Monday, September 21, 2009 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Father Paul Williams and Father Frank Patterson officiating. Burial will follow at Parkhill Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4-6 PM Sunday at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, Ga. 31907.
Richard was born October 18, 1976 in Columbus, GA the beloved son of Betty Boren Kannady and Ken Kannady of Columbus, Ga. Richard was employed at Digital Insight in Norcross, Ga. He graduated from Columbus High School in 1995 and the University of Georgia in 2003.
Survivors other than his parents include, maternal grandmother, Wynnell Boren of Columbus, paternal grandmother, Dora Kannady of Wilmington, NC. siblings, Kimberly Hall and husband Bobby and their children J.R. and Travis of Columbus and David Kannady of Panama City, FL.; aunts and uncles; David and Lynda Kannady of Ellerslie, Ga., Doug and Linda McArthur of Wilmington, NC, and children Michael, Amanda, and Ashley Tew; Brent and Susan Kannady of Richmond, VA and their son John; Chris and Karen Floyd of Wilmington, NC. and their children Lauren and Brent, John and Stephanie Kannady of Suwanee, GA and their daughter Pamela; Wayne and Mildred Irions and sons Danny and Bobby of Columbus; Ricky and Nancy Boren and children Laura, Madelyn, Caroline and Will Thomas; JoAnn Jones and her daughter Amanda and son in law Jamie Langford; Marilyn and Billy Brown and their children Shelly, Kristina, Bill, Vicky and Hailey, Juanita Kennedy and her daughter Katie all of Columbus; and dear to his heart Melody Bennett of Atlanta, and many cousins. Also, his very many friends and co-workers in Athens, Columbus and Atlanta who were all dedicated and loving during this time.
