"You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever." (Psalm 16:11 NLT)
On September 12th, 2015, Richard "Rich" A. Hernandez was called into the presence of His Savior where he now knows fullness of joy and the pleasure of living with Christ forevermore.
Rich is survived by his Father and Mother, Ricardo and Renee Hernandez, his sister and brother-in-law, Angela Hernandez-Roaf and William Roaf, his niece, Raven Gray, his paternal grandfather, Jose Hernandez, and many aunts, uncles and cousins on both sides of the family.
Rich's life was characterized by service and sacrifice. While many people experience the goodness of God and quickly forget God's grace. Rich not only didn't forget, he spent his life sharing it with others.
His early years of ministry were at Dunklin Memorial Camp where he dedicated himself to the Servant Leader Training Program. From there he went on to serve as lead counselor at Fresh Start ministries, and later Rich became the Program Director for Abba House in Perry, Georgia.
Rich loved adventure and approached life full-throttle. He grew up skateboarding, sailing, riding motor cycles, and hunting-anything that tested the limits of his abilities and strength. He could fix just about anything, and was a hands on kind of guy. He was a man's man, and yet he had a tender heart. When the children who stayed at Abba House often needed a father. Rich got involved with their lives, encouraged them, and even showed up at school events when they needed a Dad.
Rich was a faithful friend and was deeply loved by his family. His sense of humor, passion for life and love for others will never be forgotten. It is recorded in heaven and written on our hearts.
