Richard “Wayne” Glaze, 75, of Columbus, GA died Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at Columbus Hospice House.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, May 11, 2023 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Ken Lott officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. A private interment will be held at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery.
Wayne was born March 11, 1948 in Ft. Benning, GA to the late Simeon Luther Glaze, Jr. and Mary Wyndom Glaze. He served in the in Intelligence in the Air Force and worked security at TSYS before retiring. He loved NASCAR, basketball and his 1970 mustang. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by his sister, Regina Claire West.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Betty Youngblood Glaze, children, Sharon Glaze Zellner (Jarad) of Columbus, GA, Melissa Glaze of Johnson City, TN, grandson, Jackson Griffiths of Columbus, GA, and nephew, Mark Edward West of Columbus, GA.
