Richard Dale Adkins, 62, of Phenix City, AL died Friday, September 2, 2011 at his home.
A memorial service will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, September 10, 2011 at his home 50 Branding Iron St. Phenix City, AL 36869 according to Colonial Funeral Home 613 14th St. Phenix City, AL 36867.
Mr. Adkins was born April 23, 1949 in Rita, WV son of the late Acie and Ophelia Trusley Adkins. He was a U.S. Army Veteran.
Survivors include his loving wife, Gladys Tyler Adkins of Phenix City, AL, son, Dale Adkins of Merritt Island, FL, stepchildren, Lewis Cobb (Judy) of Edison, GA and Angela Cobb (Billy) of Edison, GA, grandchild and his special caregiver, Andrea Fallin (LJ) of Leary, GA, grandchildren, Robert Potts (Brittany) of Morgan, GA and Victoria McGriff of Blakely, GA, brothers, Robert Adkins of Edison, GA, Larry Adkins of Cuthbert, GA and Billy Adkins of Valdosta, GA, sister, Phyliss Reynolds (Roscoe) of McAuthur, OH, Alice King of Richland, GA, Patty Adkins of Cuthbert, GA, Betty Lewis (Hyram) of Ashburn, GA and Reda McCranie (Mark) of Perkinston, MS, and two great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Vista Care Hospice 3615 S. Railroad St. Phenix City, AL 36867.
