RET SGM Larry Alan Wildman Sr. 77, of Columbus, GA died Saturday February 10, 2024, at Emory St. Joseph Hospital in Atlanta, Ga.

A graveside service with Military Honors will be held 2:30 PM, Thursday, February 15, 2024 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery with Rev. Mickie Adams officiating according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

Mr. Wildman was born November 15, 1946, in Lincoln, AL.to the late Marion Wildman and Francis Brooks Franklin. He retired from the United States Army after a distinguished military career, which spans23 years.Larry was a Vietnam Veteran. He was a proud member of Piney Grove Baptist Church and a member of the VFW, on Victory Drive in Columbus GA.

Larry was a loving family man, he spent most of his day spending time with his dog Sarge.He was an amazing painter/artist along with working with wood crafts.He loved to spend most weekends playing chess or golf withhis grandkids. He loved his church and church family.

Survivors include his wife of 34 years,  Betty Jean Cannon Wildman of Columbus, GA, His son Larry Alan Wildman Jr of Columbus Ga, along with his Daughters: Sandra Lovvorn (Jim) of Byron, GA, Vickie Ann Rigsby (Cliff) of Harris County, GA. and Wanda Jackson (Floyd) of Phenix City, AL. Grandchildren: Rev. Cliffton Lewey (Wendy), Ryan Monte,E-7 William Benjamin Lewey (Casey), Chase Allen Hilsinger (Chelsea), Cliffton Lee Rigsby, Danny Alan Martin, Chad Andrew Hilsinger (Jessie Dyer), Andrea LeeAnn Lovvorn, Crystal Benifield (David) and alone with their eight Great Grandchildren, Sister-in-law Edna Wildman, Nieces Alisa Wildman Smyth (Dwight), Amanda “Mandy” Wildman McFall (Joey), nephew Joey Wildman.

Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his son, James Marvin Monte, daughter, Donna Lynn Lewey, adoptive grandparents, George and Pearl Wildman, brothers, Thomas Wildman, Charles Wildman and Pierce Wayne Wildman (Bonnie), neice Jill Elzabeth Hougue and cousins, Maurice Wildman (Kay).
