Retired Major Raymond Howard Wagner, 89, of Columbus, GA died Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at Piedmont Midtown.
Visitation will be held Sunday February 23, 2025 at 1:00 PM EST, followed by a funeral service with full military honors at 2:00 PM EST in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home with Rev. Andy Ginn officiating. Burial will be held at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery privately with immediate family on February 24, 2024.
Raymond was born, November 7, 1935 in Kannkakee, IL to the late Charles Fletcher Wagner and Agnes Mae Reed Wagner. He retired from the United States Army after 24 years of service. He was an avid golfer and spent his weekends playing golf and spending time with family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 63 years Mary Fink Wagner and his sister Donna. He is survived by his wife, Lashana Lee, children; Greg Wagner (Phyllis), Dawn Traywick (Gary) and Susan Howie (Sean), grandchildren; Allison Booth (Chad), Jordan Mayfield (Brandon), Chance Wagner, Mackenzie Hitchcock (Ethan), Carrington Myers (Evan), and Emilee Whitten, great grandchildren; Sadie, Shelby, Scarlett, Bryce, Wagner, Everett, Uriah and his furbaby, Dixie, who has been his loyal companion since his wife’s passing.
