Ret. CWO-2 Gerald Kropaczewski, 88, died Friday, January 8, 2021 at St. Francis Hospital.

Funeral Services with Military Honors will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 13, 2021 in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will receive friends before the service from 10:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. The interment will be held at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. For those who are unable to attend the services it will be streamed live beginning 11:00 AM Wednesday at www.mcmullenfuneralhome.com. In keeping with the efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19, face coverings and social distancing will be required during the funeral service and visitation.

Gerald was born September 18, 1932 in Erie, MI to the late Valentine Kropaczewski and Florence Mankowski Kropaczewski. He retired from the US Army after 20 plus years and was a retired Mail Carrier for the Post Office. He loved his family and participating in their activities. He liked to go sky diving, traveling and watching his Ohio State Football. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Irmgard Muth Kropaczewski and son in law, Joe Burgess.

He is survived by his children, Harold Kropaczewski of Hoodsport, WA, Linda Ricks (Ray) of Phenix City, AL, Katherine Burgess of Columbus, GA, Michael Kropaczewski (Frances) of Phenix City, AL, Jeff Kropaczewski (Sabrina) of Columbus, GA, Sandra Kropaczewski of Rome, GA, Jonett Bramley (Bert Perrine) of Columbus, GA, sisters Pat Lee of Blissville, Michigan, Mary Lou Pilarski of Toledo, Ohio, brothers Kenny Kropaczewski (Helen) of Toledo, Ohio and Larry Kropaczewski of Petersburg, Michigan, 20 grandchildren and numerous of great- grandchildren.
