Ret. 1SG Luis Tomie Figueroa-Maldonado, 82, of Midland, GA died Sunday, March 21, 2021 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 Am Thursday, March 25, 2021 in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. David Helms officiating. The family will receive friends 10:00-11:00 AM before the service at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. Interment will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, March, 25, 2021 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. In keeping with the efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19 facemask and social distancing will required during the services.
Luis was born January 11, 1939 in Puerto Rico to the late Ladislao Figueroa and Emilia Figueroa. He served for 23 years in the US Army and fought in Vietnam. He loved to garden, work in the yard, watch NASCAR and take vacations with his grandkids. He was a family man and loved to go on cruises.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Brigitte Rensch Figueroa of Midland, GA, sons, Luis A. Figueroa of Marietta, GA, Christopher “Chris” F. Figueroa (Kathy) of Auburn, GA, Oliver Roy Figueroa (Dawn) of Columbus, GA, three sisters, Zuma Figueroa, Alicia Medins Figueroa, Anita Figueroa, brothers, Junior Figueroa, Freddy Figueroa, Eduardo Figueroa, grandchildren, Mary Catherine Adair (Timothy), Lauren Elizabeth Garrett (Lee), Zachery Lance Figueora (Breanna) Figueroa, Hadley Figueroa ,Gavin Figueroa, great-grandchildren, Jason Adair, Leland Adair, and Ethan Adair, Levi Garrett, Sawyer Coen Figueroa.
