Ret. Sgt. Miguel Carlos Woods, 35, of Columbus, GA died Sunday, February 12, 2017 in Panama City, FL.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, February 17, 2017 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. Interment will be held Friday 2:00 PM at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Ret. Sgt. Woods was born October 29, 1981 in Panama City, FL son of Otha L. Woods, Jr. of Birmingham, AL and Ezra Gainer Woods of Columbus, GA. He retired from the U.S. Army having served in the Gulf War.
Loving son, brother, uncle, soldier, guardian. Miguel played many roles in his time here, but most important of all was his role as father (aka "MyDaddy") to his beautiful daughter Sophia Jade. For that was his purposed and he served it well, and will continue to do so for all eternity.
Other than his parents, he is survived by his wife, Donna Smith Woods, daughter, Sofia Woods both of Columbus, GA, sisters, Yolanda Laramore (James) of Panama City, FL, Orlisa Woods of Columbus, GA, Tara Woods (Emanuel), Lettie Woods all of Panama City, FL, Tiffany Woods of Columbus, GA, brothers, George Woods (Nordian) of Columbus, GA, Chris Leek of Birmingham, AL, and numerous nieces, nephews and family that he loved dearly.
