Ret. Lt. Col. Jorge R. Torres-Nadal, D.M.D, 81, of Midland, GA, died Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at Gentiva Hospice.
Memorial Services will be held 3:00PM, Monday, February 15, 2015 at McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
Dr. Torres-Nadal was born February 22, 1933 in Ponce, Puerto Rico, son of the late Isaias Torres-Santiago and Ana I. Nadal Deleque. A dentist in the United States Army for 24 years, Dr. Torres-Nadal was a member of the American Dental Association and the American Association of Endodontists.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Luis Torres-Nadal and Ramon Torres-Nadal.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Freddy Mercado Torres of Midalnd, GA; son, Jorge R. Torres of Columbus, GA; daughter, Maritza Torres Rivera (Edward) of Schertz, TX; grandchildren, Yanira Marie Rivera of Schertz, TX, Edward D. Rivera of Schertz, TX, and Jordan Torres Prince of Marietta, GA; brothers, Antonio Torres-Nadal of Ponce, Puerto Rico, Hector I. Torres-Nadal of San Juan, Puerto Rico, and Manuel Torres-Nadal (Jane) of San Antonio, TX and numerous nieces and nephews.
