Ret. SFC Napoleon Morris, 74, of Columbus, GA died Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at Columbus Hospice House.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, September 2, 2011 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend James R. Herring officiating. Interment with full military honors will be held at Ft. Benning Main Post Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Ret. SFC Morris was born September 10, 1936 in Chattanooga, TN son of the late Cleophas Morris and Myrtis Jones Morris Hill. He was a 1957 graduate of Spencer High School where he was the class president. He retired from the U.S. Army as Sergeant First Class serving in the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He received the Purple Heart.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Taz Hill.
Survivors include his loving wife, Mary Frances Morris of Columbus, GA, daughters, Gretchen Manley (Ricky), Gloria Paden and Cathy Graves (Tom, Jr.) all of Columbus, GA, son, Herold Morris of Columbus, GA, brothers, Cleophas Morris (Jeweleen) of Columbus, GA, Tommy Hill (Lucille) of Columbus, GA and David Jones of Atlanta, GA, and six grandchildren.
