Ret. Sgt. Joseph Grinnell

Ret. Sgt. Joseph "Back-Up" Grinnell, 67, of Columbus, GA died Saturday, June 18, 2016 at his home.
A memorial service will be held 12:00 Noon Saturday, June 25, 2016 at the Iron Cross Clubhouse 2316 Clover Lane Columbus, GA 31903.
Sgt. Grinnell was born September 27, 1948 in Owosso, MI son of the late Floyd and Charlotte Grinnell. He graduated from Morrice High School in 1968 and was the 9th son of 12 children. He retired from the U.S. Army in 1998 as a Sergeant having served two tours in Vietnam and was a member of the Patriots Support Club in 1991 and 1992. Sgt. Grinnell was patched into the Iron Cross Motorcycle Club on March 20, 1999 and retired from the club on May 20, 2014.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Hurley, Chuck, Gilbert, Gordon, Jim, Gary and Charlotte.
Survivors include his wife whom he married June 1, 1974, Denise Grinnell, two daughters, Jodi Ann Simmons (Joe) and Mary Blanche Grinnell, brothers, Ron Grinnell, Sid Grinnell and Mark Grinnell, sister, Mary Grinnell, grandchildren, Cassandra (Erin), Trent, Kristin (Colby), Joesph Miguel, Ethan, Nina and McKenzie, and great grandchildren, Aubrey, Isabella, Jeffery, Layla and Mason.
