Ret. SFC Charles S. Elledge, 91, died Saturday, April 18, 2020 at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA.
Due to the public health crisis a private service will be held for immediate family members only Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at Chapel of Pines Mausoleum Columbus, GA, with Pastor Bert Arnold officiating. A public Celebration of Life Service for family and friends will be held at a date to be determined after the Covid-19 pandemic has subsided.
Charles was born on October 6, 1928 to the late Sid Elledge and Beatrice Gillim Vowell. He retired from the United States Army after 22 years with two tours in Korea and one tour in Vietnam. He also retired from the Post Office after 20 years, was a member of the airplane club, a master marksman, and an avid fisherman. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who loved his family dearly.
Survivors include his wife Peggy Moore Elledge, daughter, Vicki Lynn Pallesen (Patrick) of Phenix City, Alabama, son, Charles M. Elledge (Betty D) of Columbus, GA, grandchildren, Erin Pallesen, Matthew Ryan LeComte, Michael Stephen Elledge, Charles Brian Elledge, great- grandchildren, Ashley Nicole Elledge, Brittany Renee Parker, Ethan Elledge, Owen Elledge, and Peyton Brooke LeComte.
