Renate Roswitta Louisa Mayne, affectionately known as Renee, peacefully passed away from natural causes on the Friday, July 7, 2023, in Columbus, GA.
Memorial services will be held 4:00 PM Wednesday, July 12, 2023 in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Paul Buckhiester officiating. The family will receive friends following the services at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. Interment will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, July 13, 2023 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery.
She was born October 12, 1942, in Sonnefeld, Germany. She was preceded in death by husband of 32 years; Carl, Sr. Renee was a beacon of love and kindness, leaving behind a legacy that will forever be remembered by her loved ones. Renee was a devoted mother to her son Carl, and his wife Nitzi, as well as her daughter Diana. She was a beloved grandmother to Jessie and CJ, and held a special place in her heart for Christopher Currin. Renee also leaves behind her fur baby, Georgia, who brought her endless joy and companionship.
Renee's love for her family was paralleled only by her passion for flower gardening. She found great joy and tranquility in the beauty of nature, often spending hours tending to her colorful blossoms. She passed on this love of flowers to her daughter Diana; they were often companions in her gardening activities. These shared moments of tranquility and beauty will forever be cherished memories for her family.
In addition to her love for gardening, Renee also found great joy in spending time with her grandchildren, family, and friends. Often enjoying a spirited game of dominos. Renee was a woman of deep faith, and a prayer warrior, continuously seeking to learn more about God. Her strong belief system was a testament to her character, and it was evident in the way she lived her life and treated those around her. She was a source of comfort for many, always ready to lend a listening ear or a comforting word.
Renee's legacy of love and kindness will forever be remembered by all who knew her. She has left an indelible mark on the hearts of her family and friends, and her memory will continue to be a source of strength and inspiration for them. Her family will remember her as a loving mother, doting grandmother, and a caring friend, whose love knew no bounds. Renee's life was a testament to the power of love and kindness. Her unwavering commitment to her family, her passion for flower gardening, and her deep faith, are all part of the legacy that she leaves behind.
