Becky Fewell was sent to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 18, 2018.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Ellerslie, GA with Rev. Tommy Henschel and Rev. Eddie Smith officiating. Interment will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
She was born on December 24, 1938 in Roanoke, Virginia to James Roy and Grace (Keen) Boitnott of Roanoke, Virginia. The family later relocated to a farm in Boones Mill, Virginia.
Becky was a graduate of Franklin County High School and received her bachelor's degree in education from Virginia Commonwealth University, then her master's degree in education from Troy State University. Virginia governor John Dalton appointed Becky to the VCU Board of Visitors. Becky and Jimmy Fewell were married on May 7, 1960. Becky was an educator for 50 years. She was active in the Republican Party and was a delegate to the Republican National Convention. She was active in volunteer work and a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband Jimmy Fewell; daughter Kay Fewell Wilkerson (Mark); son Steven Fewell; sisters Joyce Tice (George) and Sue Wray Plymale.
