Rebecca "Becky" Tyler Alford, a beacon of love and selflessness, departed this life on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at her home in Cataula, GA, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and spirited generosity.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Thursday, August 15, 2024 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Dan Rogers officiating. Becky was born in Columbus, GA, on September 28, 1951, to the late Clifford and Helen Brown Tyler. She was a cherished sister to Ronald, Donald, and Paul, all of whom predeceased her, and to her surviving sister, Sherry. Becky accepted Christ as her Lord and personal Savior at a very young age. Her life was a testament to the power of love and the strength of family bonds, exemplified by her 55-year marriage to her beloved husband, Jerry L. Alford, and the beautiful family they built together.

Becky's journey through life was marked by her unwavering dedication to her family, which included her children, Jerry L. Alford II (Rainey), Brandi Keefe (Joel), Jessica Freeman (Taylor), and Joshua Alford (Jessica). She was the proud Grammy to her grandchildren Caine Alford, Adam Alford (Nicole), Shelbi Smith (Dixon), Hayden Rozell, Carter Keefe, Morgan Peck (Jonathan), Tanner Freeman, Kohen Alford, Adam Tyler Alford, and Hudson Alford and great-grandchildren Kamdyn Alford and Carson Pippin. The joy of her life was further multiplied with the anticipation of welcoming another great-granddaughter, Rebecca "Bex" Alford, in December 2024. Her family was her world, and she, in turn, was theirs.

Becky's journey was not one she walked alone. Special friends Kenny and Lisa Childers of Roan Mountain, TN and Ms. Toni Minniefield of Columbus, GA, were cherished companions who shared in her life's adventures and milestones. Her relationships were built on a foundation of genuine care and mutual admiration, creating bonds that transcended the ordinary.

Becky graduated from Jordan High School in 1969, a milestone that paved the way for a future filled with purpose and achievement. She retired after 27 years of dedicated service at The Georgia Department of Labor.

Her interests were simple yet profound: spending quality time with her family and grandchildren. Becky's presence was a source of unwavering support and delight, her home always open, her table always set, and her arms forever wide for a comforting embrace. Those who knew her were touched by her loving nature, her spirited laughter, and her selfless acts of kindness. Becky lived her life as a testament to the power of putting others before oneself, and her legacy will continue to inspire and guide those she has left behind.

Becky's life story marked by milestones of joy, shared experiences, and the collective wisdom of a life lived with intention. She was a woman who understood that the richest moments often come from the simplest pleasures, surrounded by the people she loved. To describe Becky is to speak of a heart full of love, a spirit that could lift the downtrodden, and a selflessness that knew no bounds.

In her passing, Becky leaves a void that can never be filled, but also a path brightly lit by her example, encouraging us all to live with compassion, to cherish every moment, and to love without reservation. She was a motivational force in her own right, her life a message that the essence of our being is measured not by our material achievements, but by the love we share and the lives we touch.

Today, as we remember Becky, let us celebrate her life with the joy she would want us to feel. Let us honor her memory by embracing her virtues: love generously, laugh heartily, and live selflessly. Becky's story does not end here; it continues in each act of kindness we perform, in every moment we choose joy, and in the love, we share with one another. Her spirit, a radiant light, will forever guide us, her family, her friends, and all who were blessed to know her.

Rebecca "Becky" Tyler Alford, your legacy is eternal, your memory a treasure, and your life an inspiration. May we all strive to carry forward the torch of your love, illuminating the paths of those who walk behind us, just as you have so beautifully done for us.
