Raymond "Ray" Massengale

Raymond "Ray" Massengale, Jr. 73, of Columbus, GA died Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 28, 2013 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Clark Standard officiating. A private interment will be held in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the services at the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, Ga.
Ray was born January 22, 1940 in Columbus, Georgia son of the late Raymond R. Massengale, Sr. and Kathleen Hughes Massengale . He retired after 37 years of service with IBM Corporation. He was a member of Britt David Baptist Church and a 1958 graduate of Jordan Vocational High School.
Ray's passion in life was to coach Little League Baseball. For the past 33 years, he coached at Pioneer and American Little League. He loved fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. Ray was a devoted family man and was the "Rock" of the Massengale Family.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years Rosemary W. Massengale of Columbus, Ga., four sons; Rafe Massengale (Amy) of Midland, Ga., Todd Massengale of Talbot County, Ga., Tim Massengale (Lisa) and John Massengale both of Columbus, Ga., one sister; Ginger Austin of Pine Mountian, Ga., five grandchildren, Matt, Amanda, Timmy, Hughes and Gracie Massengale and one great-granddaughter
Sophia Grace Massengale.
Flowers will be accepted, but those so desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society 233 12th Street Columbus, Georgia 31904 in memory of Ray Massengale.
