Raymond Bernard Chauvaux, 95, of Columbus, GA died Thursday, March 24, 2022 at his granddaughters home in Acworth, GA where he was currently residing. He died in the presence of his loving family, granddaughter, Kathy was holding his hand and his grandson--in-law was also present in the room.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, April 1, 2022 in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Dr. Kevin Calhoun officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. Interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery.
Raymond was born October 17,1926 in Ford City Pennsylvania to the late Arthur Joseph Chauvaux and Sarah Bell Hughes (Chauvaux). He graduated from Ford City High School then enlisted in the army with the airborne division. He was honorably discharged for his service during WWII. As a family man, he worked at the United States Post Office on Milgen Rd. until his retirement. Raymond was a member of Hilton Terrace Baptist Church since 1954, the Keenager's and Andrews' Sunday School Class. On December 21st, 1945, Raymond was united in marriage to Myrlene Bolin. They had a loving union of marriage of 66 years until her passing in 2012. In the presence of the Lord, he is now reunited with his loving sweetheart, children, and several of his siblings. He will be greatly missed by all that are left behind.
Other than his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Myrlene Bolin Chauvaux, his sons, James Edward Chauvaux, Kenneth Raymond Chauvaux, daughter-in-law, Alice Faye Chauvaux, his sister, Jeanne Higgins (George), and his brothers, Arthur Chauvaux (Alyce), Albert F. Chauvaux (Ruth), Richard Chauvaux (Joanne).
He is survived by his two brothers, Edward L Chauvaux (Mary Ruth), David L. Chauvaux (Chris), sister-in-law, Ruth Chauvaux, four grandchildren, Sarah Kathryn Young (Anthony), Michele Ann Hamilton (Heath), Tracey Elizabeth Chauvaux, Brandon Ray Chauvaux, three great- grandchildren, Kathryn Elizabeth Young, Nez Cooper Hamilton, Tess Hamilton, and a number of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in his name.
