LTC (Ret) Ralph G. Egenmaier, 84, of Columbus, GA, passed away October 25, 2014.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. October 28th at St. Paul UMC With Reverend John Fugh and Reverend Buddy Cooper officiating. A graveside service with full military honors will be held at Ft. Benning Main Post Cemetery at 9 a.m., October 29th. Mr. Egenmaier was born in Brooklyn, NY on Dec. 15, 1929 to the late Heinrich Egenmaier and the late Annie Just. LTC (Ret) Egenmaier was a shining example of Duty, Honor, and Country. He proudly served as a US Army Infantryman for 36 years and then spent the next 26 plus years as a tax preparer for H & R Block, both in VA and here in Columbus, GA. He was a steady, loving influence for his family. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion and MOAA, where he also served as a past president. He marshaled PGA Golf tournaments annually for many years and enjoyed playing golf, bridge and poker.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, IngeEgenmaier and is survived by his son Dr. Walter Egenmaier (Marian), and his daughter Shirley Binder (Bruce) and his five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Peggy, and her surviving children, Rebecca, Robert, and Andrew
