Peter Samuel Schaefer

Loving husband and father, Peter Samuel Schaefer, 42, of Fortson, GA, went to
his heavenly home on Tuesday, March 3, 2015.
A Memorial Service in celebration of his life will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 7, 2015 at McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
Peter was an active member of Morningside Baptist Church of Columbus, GA.
He was proud of his work for the Army Research Institute at Fort Benning
where he served as a research psychologist. He graduated from the University
of Georgia, where he culminated his educational pursuits with a PhD in
Psychology.
He is survived by his wife, Katherine "Katy" Raney Schaefer, two precious
sons William Izaak (5) and Izaya Timothy (4), parents Diego and Flo Schaefer
of Clarkesville, Georgia, brother David Timothy Schaefer of Marietta,
Georgia, and a multitude of friends and family who will miss him dearly.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Peter's
memory to Gideon's International or to the Schaefer Children Memorial Fund
