Peggy Day Watson, 74, of McDonough, Georgia died Friday, December 22, 2023 at her residence.
Graveside services will be held 1:00 PM, Thursday, December 28, 2023 at Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Rd, Columbus, GA 31907, with Pastor Ed Rollins officiating. The family will receive friends 11:00 AM-12:00 PM Thursday, December 28, 2023 at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd, Columbus, GA.
Peggy was born March 18, 1949 in Rome, GA daughter of the late Doyle W. Day and Barbara Backers Day. She was a dedicated Mother and Sister. She also retired from the Georgia Internal Revenue Service after 25 years of service.
She was a hands-on person, she enjoyed yard work, gardening, and crafts. Other interests included watching detective mystery shows, Fox News, learning from her crafting and gardening magazines and day lilies. Peggy was Baptist by faith.
Other than her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her daughter, Desiree “Dee Dee” Harrington, who was the joy of her life.
Survivors include her sister, Sandra Freeman of McDonough, GA; son-in-law, Peter Harrington of Greenfield, MA; nephew, Joshua D. Freeman of Columbus, GA; and many special friends.
