Peggy Luker was a loving mother, grandmother, friend, and teacher. She left this world suddenly on February 18, 2022, at the age of 68. Her life did not come to an end with her death; her legacy lives on in the lives of those who were touched by her love.

Born November 6, 1953, in Columbus, GA to Joseph and Betty Kaneaster she is survived by her son Andy, her daughter-in-love Monica, and the light of her life, her grandson Noah. Peggy’s celebration of life will be held at 2pm Tuesday, February 22 at Wynnbrook Baptist Church.

With a passion for teaching children, Peggy shared her talents and love with countless children over her 34 years teaching at both Pine Ridge and Waverly Hall in Harris county. Upon her retirement from her formal teaching duties, she was an instrumental volunteer at Wynnbrook Baptist Church in the children’s ministry, even working as part-time Children’s Minister in between staff.

For those that knew Peggy, you know she loved her friends and cooking. Spending time in the kitchen creating delicious treats and meals for family and friends was how she shared her love. She lived for spending evenings with friends sharing both great conversations and wine. She had a love for the theater and supporting the arts passing it along and sharing it with her son and anyone else who would join her. She loved trying new restaurants, even though she rarely found anything she liked on the menu. For Peggy it was not necessarily the food that was important, it was the experience and time with loved ones that brought her joy.

In lieu of flowers or donations the family asks that you take a note out of Peggy's book and take your family or friends out to a local restaurant that you’ve never tired. Enjoy the meal and time together experiencing something new. Sometime during the meal, toast Peggy and a life well lived and a legacy of love.
