Peggy Sue Hix, 81, of Columbus, GA died Friday, June 24, 2016 at her home.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, June 27, 2016 in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Pastor Larry Biggers officiating. A private interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends 3:00 to 5:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Hix was born April 5, 1935 in Henry County, AL to the late Henry Byrd and Martha Curenton Hutto. She was a master cosmetologist and was a member of Northside Worship Center. Mrs. Hix was a loving mother and grandmother.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Durwood Hix, brothers, Jimmy Hutto, and Joel Hutto, and sister, Mary L. Wesley.
Survivors include daughters, Deborah Jenrette (Wade), Judy Carol Smith (Douglas), and Lynn Holloway (Jimmy) and Jaycie; son, Derrell Hix (Cheryl); sister, Joyce Adams (Danny) and Steven; brothers, Dan Hutto (Ellen), J.L. Hutto, and Sammy Hutto; grandchildren, Brendan Hix (Meghan) and child, Easton, and Nadia Massey and children.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Northside Worship Center 1901 Whittlesey Rd. Columbus, GA 31904.
