Pedro J. Sanchez, Jr., 82, of Columbus, GA died Sunday, June 13, 2010 at Columbus Hospice House.
A memorial service will be held 7PM Thursday, June 17, 2010 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Cindy Bennett officiating. A private interment will be held Friday, June 18, 2010 at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 to 7PM and also following the service according to the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mr. Sanchez was born June 29, 1927 in Arroyo, Puerto Rico son of the late Pedro Jose' Sanchez, Sr. and Julia Sanchez Iglesias. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and worked as a Civil Engineer for the Power Light Company of Puerto Rico. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carmen A. Sanchez, step-daughter, Melanie S. Herold, one brother and three sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille Henderson Sanchez of Columbus, GA, two stepsons, Steven C. Herold of Houston, TX and Stuart J. Herold of Portland, OR, caregiver and granddaughter, Amanda D. Golden of Hamilton, GA, five other grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren.
