Pauline Kirkland Grant, known affectionately as Pauline, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2024, in Columbus, Georgia. Graveside service will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024 10:00 am at Parkhill Cemetery with Pastor Bob Hawkins officiating. Born on September 24, 1927, in Haleburg, Alabama, Pauline's journey through life was marked by her enduring kindness, love, and generosity. Her warm presence and the joy she brought to others will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Pauline's life was one of dedication and hard work. At the young age of sixteen, she started her career at the Bibb Manufacturing Company in Columbus, Georgia, after moving from Henry County, Alabama. As a skilled weaver, she devoted an impressive 40 years of service before retiring. Her work ethic and commitment to her craft were an inspiration to her colleagues and family alike.

Outside of work, Pauline's passions were rooted in the simple pleasures of life. A talented gardener, she found peace and contentment in the beauty of her flowers, which she tended with care and skill. Her love of nature was evident in the vibrant blooms that surrounded her home, providing a sanctuary of color and life.

In the kitchen, Pauline's country cooking was legendary, especially her array of cakes during the Christmas season. Family members eagerly anticipated the chance to savor a slice of their favorite cake, each one crafted with love and a sprinkle of her culinary magic. These cherished moments brought warmth and togetherness to the family, creating memories that will be treasured forever.

Pauline was the beloved matriarch of a large and loving family. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Eugene R. Grant, and her daughter, Janice Wynona Grant Fink. Her legacy lives on through her sons, Howard Grant (Kathy) of Rincon, Georgia, and David Grant (Laurie) of Phenix City, Alabama. Her grandchildren, Marie Cottle (Ron), Mark Grant (Marlene), Gene Grant (Christine), Karen Butcher (Brian), Amanda Harrison (Grant), Adam Grant (Kimberly), and Andrew Grant, as well as numerous great and great-great-grandchildren, will carry forward the values and traditions she instilled in them.

Pauline's life was a testament to the power of love and the impact one person can have on the lives of many. She was a source of strength and comfort, always ready to lend a hand or a listening ear. Her generous spirit extended beyond her family, touching the hearts of friends and community members alike.

Pauline had an unbreakable love and devotion for Jesus. She was constantly reading her Bible and praising Jesus throughout her life. She was dedicated to raising her family to be believers in Christ and to follow and love Him.

As we say goodbye to Pauline, we celebrate a life well-lived. Her laughter, her wisdom, and her nurturing spirit will remain with us. We take solace in the knowledge that her legacy of love will continue to bloom in the lives of those she touched.
