Paula June Colvin Murphy, 88, of Columbus, GA, died Monday, April 18, 2022 at her residence.
Private burial will be held at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA.
Paula was born April 13, 1934, in Albertville, AL., to the late Claude Leslie Colvin and Cressie Maude Tidmore Colvin Jackson. She worked most of her life, as a cashier, for various grocery stores in Columbus. She later became disabled. She spent her later years, collecting brown ware dishes, by Hull and McCoy.
Paula was preceded in death by her parents and 3 siblings, Madge Colvin Bray, Wandeen Colvin Davis, and CL (Buddy) Colvin.
Paula is survived by her husband of 65 years, Robert William Murphy, Sr. of Columbus, GA; children, Jenny Murphy Carver (Dana) of Midland, GA, Robert William Murphy, Jr. (Martha) of West Point, GA, Charles C. Murphy of Birmingham, AL, Donna Cassell (David) of Virginia, Rita Piedmont of Pine Mountain, GA;. She had nine grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; and one great, great grandchild.
