Paul Andrew Jones, 79, of Pine Mountain Valley, GA died Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at Midtown Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, August 8, 2016 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Mr. Tommy Thomas officiating. A private interment will be held at Riverdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends after the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Jones was born November 12, 1936 in Columbus, GA to the late Quana Rosser Jones, Sr. and Gertrude White Jones. He served in the National Guard as a young man and worked for Columbus Gas and Light as well as Civil Service. Paul was a strong supporter of St. Jude's Children Hospital.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Virginia Giles Jones and his three brothers, Rosser, John and Albert Jones.
Survivors include his sister, Nancy Casey of Cataula, GA, sisters-in-law, Dorothy Jones of Columbus, GA and Joyce Jones of Atlanta, GA, and numerous nieces and nephews along with his brothers and sisters in Christ at Pine Mountain Valley Church of Christ.
He will be greatly missed by all of his family.
