Paul Allison Allen, 82 of Columbus, GA went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, November 11, 2024.
A Celebration of Life may be held at a later date according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Boulevard, Columbus, Georgia 31907.
Paul was born November 27, 1941 at Fort Benning, Georgia to the late Hugh Asa Allen and Sara Agnes Lee Hillard Allen. Paul served his country in the United States Army and National Guard. He was an extremely talented man, who wrote poetry and stories for children; he had a vivid imagination and loved telling tales. He was a self-taught artist of music playing the guitar, piano, and violin but his real love was playing classical guitar. He gave private music lessons at Hume’s Music Company, Fort Benning Officers' Wives' Club and the Fort Benning Recreation Center. He played at many recitals for the Gold Star Officers' Wives' Club at the old Ralston Hotel. Additionally, at one time during his career he taught Applied Music at Columbus College (now Columbus State University). Paul received a degree in Four Part Harmony from the US School of Music, Long Island, New York. Paul and his wife owned and operated the North Lumpkin Road Laundromat for twenty years.
Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers Hugh Hilliard Allen, Herbert Edsel Allen, James "Jimmy" Elton Allen, and sisters Vivian Allen Adams, Marianne Allen Pierce, Carol Aline "Mickey" Allen, Barbara Jean Allen VanNatter, Sara Evelyn Allen Joiner, and Luellen Allen Tomblin. Survivors include his loving wife Kathy Lee Wyss Knueppel Allen of Columbus, Georgia, his sister Janice Kaye Kyle also of Columbus, and his precious pet dog "Baby Girl", along with numerous nieces and nephews.
