Patricia "Pat" D. Carden, 78, of Phenix City, AL died Friday, August 7, 2020 at Columbus Hospice.
A private graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at Oswichee Cemetery according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Pat was born October 2, 1941 in Phenix City, AL to the late Charles "Melvin" Daye and Ethel Corbitt Carroll. She worked at Albright, Fortenberry & Ninas LLP for 10 years and Kirven's Department Store for 18 years. She was an avid softball, tennis and golf player. She loved being outdoors and riding her John Deere while cutting grass. She also had a great love for Alabama Football, Tennessee Lady Vols Basketball and Larry Bird with the Boston Celtics. She enjoyed spending her time with family and especially her beloved great- grandson, Riley. Other than her parents she is preceded in death by her husband William R. "Bud" Carden and son, William J. "Jeff" Carden.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandy Lewack (Steve) of Columbus, GA, sisters, LaDelle Dukes of Orangeburg, SC, Judy Smith of Phenix City, AL, three grandchildren, Trish King (Denny Grimes, Jr.) of Columbus, GA, Jamie King (Daniel Stevenson) of Calera, AL, Rachel Lewack of Brooklyn, NY, great-grandson Riley Grimes of Columbus, GA and special lifelong friend, Carol Henderson of Columbus, GA, and her nieces and nephews.
