Ouida Joan Wise, 80, of Columbus, GA, died Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Columbus Hospice House.
Graveside Services will be held 1:00 PM, Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Parkhill Cemetery with Chaplain Wayne Holloway officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:00-7:00 PM at McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Wise was born October 30, 1934 in Phenix City, AL, daughter of the late Leonard L. Hill and Evelyn Adele Adams. She retired with over 40 years as administrative secretary at West Point Pepperell and was a former member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Gary Lamar Wise; daughter-in-law, Mary Beth Wise; her brother, Charles Leonard Hill, and her grandson, Brian James Wise.
Survivors include her husband, James F. "Billy" Wise of Columbus, GA; son, Norman Wise (Laura) of Fortson, GA; two sisters, Helen Tracy (Charles) and Penny Harrison (Kenny); one granddaughter, Carolann Wise; four grandsons, Neil A. Wise, Jasen Wise, Chris Wise (Courtney), and Gary Wise (Beth); two great-granddaughters, Mackenzie Wise and Cameron Wise; several nieces and nephews and numerous relatives and friends.
The family would like to express thanks to Columbus Hospice Staff and a special caregiver, Liz Chapman.
