Norman F. Gordon, 81, of Columbus, GA died Thursday, March 13, 2014 at his residence.
Memorial Services will be held 5:00 PM, Sunday, March 16, 2014 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Gordon was born November 27, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois, son of the late Frederick T. Gordon and Catherine Kutra Gordon. He graduated from Culver Military Academy and Hanover College in Hanover, IN and was a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. He served in the military from 1954- 1956 and was a retired sales representative with Glaxo Smith Kline Pharmaceutical Company. After his retirement, he was active in the Lions Club. Mr. Gordon was instrumental in the origin of the Muscogee County Humane Society and was publicity chairman of that organization for a number of years.
Mr. Gordon is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carolyn Gordon of Columbus, GA; and daughter Scarlett Gordon of Jacksonville, FL.
