Norma Alice Hill, 90, of Columbus, GA died Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at Columbus Hospice House.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 Noon Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Cornerstone Baptist Church 16117 GA-315 Ellerslie, GA 31807 with Rev. Tommy Henschel officiating. A private family interment will be held Monday afternoon at Ft. Benning Main Post Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the church according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Hill was born April 2, 1926 in Salem, AL daughter of the late Joseph Glenn Herring and Mary Elizabeth Bishop Herring. She was a homemaker and a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Ellerslie, GA. She also volunteered at St. Francis.
She devoted her life to service and sacrifice. She loved children, especially her grandchildren, and devoted herself to a lifetime of service at Wesley Heights Baptist Church working as the 4 and 5-year-old Sunday School teacher and AWANA.
Survivors include her daughter, Alice Peters (Brett) of Midland, GA, sons, Edwin F. Hill (Barbara) of Cumming, GA and Michael D. Taylor (Elisabeth) of Columbia, SC, grandchildren, Caroline Peters, Bradley Peters, Ellen Hill, Sarah Hill Jones (Colby), John F. Hill, Steve E. Hill, Kellie P. Hill, Lori A. Hill and Michelle Taylor, and great grandchildren, Jeremiah Huckaby, Clayton Tiemeyer, Reese Tiemeyer, Josuah Jones, Abigail Jones, and Naomi Jones.
