Nina Kennedy, 89, of Columbus, Ga, died Saturday, October 7, 2017 at her residence.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, October 9, 2017 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. Norman Dunlap and Rev. Scott Tucker officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 10:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home.
Mrs. Kennedy was born October 22, 1927 in Notasulga, AL, daughter of the late Harvey and Willie Jean Richardson. She was a teacher in the Columbus Area in the public and private school system for 40 years having worked at Wynnton School and having started the St. Thomas Episcopal Day School and was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin Kennedy; siblings, Harold Richardson, Alma Matt, Mary Briant, Jean Paul, Olin Richardson.
Survivors include her 3 sons, Steve Kennedy (Dianne) of Hamilton, GA, Richard Kennedy (Kay), Salem, AL, Tim Kennedy (Julie), Columbus, GA; 6 Grandchildren, Josh Kennedy (Cheryl), Kaci Hamilton (Wyman), Keeley Frick (Craig), Kane Kennedy (Melanie), Tori Kennedy, and Timothy Kennedy and 7 Great- Grandchildren.
