Nickolas Jordan J. Washington, affectionately known as Nick, passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2023 in Columbus, GA, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Nick was born in Vietnam on April 14, 1999 to Ernest (Ernie) Washington and Debra (Deb) Jarzomkowski. Nick came to the States with his family via Germany in 2003, where his love of adventure started.
Nick was a 2017 graduate of Fayette County High School. He was proud to be a 2022 graduate of Georgia State University, where he majored in journalism-public relations/communication. He made a significant impact on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him during his academic journey.
Nick's professional life was as rich and varied as his personal one. He was a proud participant as an intern with the Disney College Program, Atlanta Rescue and Fire, and UPS. Upon graduation he carried his can do positive attitude and infectious spirit into employment with AJC International.
Nick's interests were as diverse as his personality, including being an extra in several movies and TV shows filmed around Atlanta. His love of dance allowed him to express his vibrant personality and boundless energy. He was an excellent cook, often delighting his loved ones and friends with his culinary creations. Nick’s love for children and animals was evident in his gentle interactions with them. Nick was a passionate member of the Georgia State University Color Guard/ Winter Guard, his performances were always filled with enthusiasm and dedication.
Nick was known for his adventurous spirit, always ready to embark on a new journey or take on a new challenge. His selflessness was one of his most defining traits, even while going through his own internal battle with cancer. Nick continued to put others first, treating people with kindness and respect.
In the words of Nick “Life is life, one day at a time.” This quote perfectly encapsulates his approach to life, in good times and in bad. This was evident in his battle with cancer, facing the disease with bravery and determination. He lived each day as an adventure, embracing every opportunity with open arms and a wide smile.
Nick's life, although cut short, was filled with love, laughter, and countless moments of joy. His adventurous spirit, courageous heart, and selfless nature will forever be remembered by those who were fortunate enough to know him. As we mourn his loss, we also celebrate his life, remembering the happiness he brought into our lives and the positive impact he had on the world around him.
Nick is survived by a loving family that includes his parents, Ernest (Ernie) Washington and Debra (Deb) Jarzomkowski, his siblings Lorrin Washington (Ryan Dempsey), Hannah Washington (Ian Labat), Ashlea Washington (Buddy Sigmon), Jasminh Washington (Arick Klein), Kathryn Carter (TJ Carter), Brennan Washington and nieces(Emmy and Ellie) and nephews (Luke, Oliver, and RJ). His loss leaves a void that can never be filled, but his memory will forever be a testament to his vibrant life and indomitable spirit.
Nickolas Jordan J. Washington's life was a testament to living life to the fullest, to embracing every moment. He leaves behind a legacy of love, courage, and selflessness that will continue to inspire all who knew him. His memory will forever be cherished, his life celebrated, and his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
