Nellie M. Savage

Nellie M. Savage, 90 of Columbus, GA died Monday, November 25, 2013 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 29, 2013 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel, 3874 Gentian Blvd, Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. Hank Avera officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 9 to 11 o'clock a.m. at the funeral home.
Ms. Savage was born July 30, 1923 in Chapel Hill, TN daughter to the late Oscar Allison and Ora Chambliss Allison. She was a devoted Christian and member of Beallwood Church of God. She retired from Columbus Carpet Mills as an inspector. She was also a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Other than her parents, Ms. Savage was preceded in death by her loving husband; Dudley Savage, a son; Michael Savage, two brothers and a sister.
Survivors include her daughter; Joan Bales (Charles), two sons; Dudley Eugene Savage (Nena) and Kennith H. Savage (Linda) all of Columbus, GA. She had 13 grandchildren and was also blessed with great grandchildren.
Ms. Savage was a resident of Summer's Landing at Green Island, a Senior Living Community. The family would like to acknowledge and express sincere gratitude to Linda Wommack, Executive Director, and her wonderful staff for their tireless dedication and care for Ms. Savage. Ms. Savage was also under the care of Hospice Advantage to which a special thank you is also extended to Amber L. Winkis, RN, MSN, and her staff for their care, comfort and compassion to Ms. Savage and the family during this time of need.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Hospice Advantage or Hospice Angels at 5651 Whitesville Rd., Suite #110, Columbus, GA 31904. Any donations should be marked as an honorarium for Nellie Savage.
