Nellie "Lois" Price Gilchrist, 88, of Columbus, GA, died Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Columbus Hospice House.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, February 26, 2015 at McMullen Funeral Home chapel, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. Hank Reeves officiating. Interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Ms. Gilchrist was born February 3, 1927 in Enterprise, AL, daughter of the late Henry Price and Eva Allen Price. She worked as a winder at the Swift Mills and also worked at McDonalds for 18 years. Ms. Gilchrist was a member of Beallwood Baptist.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her children, Jimmy Herring, Betty Cason, and Ricky Herring.
Survivors include her daughter, Jewel Randall of Columbus, GA; son, Billy Herring of Lamont, FL; sisters, Mildred Price Singleton of Texarkana, TX and Joan Phillips Smith (Mike) of Columbus, GA; daughter-in-law, Laurie Herring of Smiths, AL; and brother-in-law, Wayne of Corsicana, TX; 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Columbus Hospice House, 7020 Moon Road Columbus, GA 31909.
