Nathaniel "Nate" O. Brooks, 91, of Phenix City, AL died June 11, 2020 at St. Francis-Emory Healthcare Hospital.
A private funeral service for family and close friends will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at the Chapel of the Pines Mausoleum in Parkhill Cemetery with Mr. John Beatty officiating. Guidelines set forth by the CDC and Governor Brian Kemp to maintain social distancing for those attending the funeral service will be in effect.
Nate was born November 2, 1928 in Cuthbert, GA to the late Oliver Brooks and Sara Shirling Brooks. He was raised by his mother, Sara Brooks. He attended Baker High School and enlisted in the Air Force when he was 17 years old. He served in War World II and Korean Conflict. He received an associate's college degree while in service. He retired from Civil Services in purchasing. He was preceded in death by his first wife Patricia, second wife Loretta Bell, and sister Sue Outlaw.
He is survived by his sister, Janet Wilkerson (Bobby) of Columbus, GA, numerous nieces, nephews and a beloved companion Judith Cook of Columbus, Ga.
