Nancy "Jean" Blankenship Reese, 78 of Columbus died Thursday December 31, 2015 at Columbus Hospice House.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM Sunday, January 3, 2016 at Beallwood Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Duncan officiating. A private interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. A visitation will be held 1-2 PM Sunday at the church according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, Ga. 31907.
Mrs. Reese was born in Samson, Alabama daughter of the late Elley Mitchell Blankenship and Lilly Skipper Blankenship Reeves. She was a homemaker and President/Bookkeeper of Reese Construction Company. She graduated from Jordan High School in 1955 and was a member of Beallwood Baptist Church. Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James N. Reese, Sr., step-father, John Mac Reeves, sisters, Onie Hardy, Hilma Story, Vivian Turk, Connie Sue Blankenship and her infant son Roy Kye Reese.
She is survived by her sons, James "Jim" N. Reese, Jr. (Amy) of Charlotte, NC., Daniel "Dan" D. Reese (Andrea) of Cataula, Ga., brother, Jeff Blankenship (Donna) of Columbus, Ga., grandchildren, Elizabeth Reese, Andrew Reese, Abigail Reese, Caroline Reese, Ethan Reese and Ian Reese.
